Leapster Explorer
The Leapster Explorer has the accolade of being the Toy Industry Association’s 2011 Educational Toy of the Year.
With so many children’s toys being made each and every year it is no mean feat to achieve this acknowledgement of a toy that meets the requirements and demands of the children looking for entertainment but which satisfies the parents need for toys to entertain as well.

The Leapster Explorer comes with a color touch screen of 3.2inches, ebook reading, a wide range of apps that can be downloaded and many learning games at different levels for ongoing interest and learning.
Not only that, the Leapster has the availability to use add-on hardware that turns the unit into a camera for both still and video use.
Educational Learning Game
This is what the Leapster Explorer is all about. A tool to education and entertainment all in the one package. Cartridges are used and different sets of skills are required to achieve different levels. Other skills that are required are reading, language, math or science skills so the children are challenged at every turn.
Characters that children relate to and enjoy like Toy Story 3 crew, Disney Princess, and Cars 2, are used in the games and fun and learning is combined together.
Leapster Explorer
This unit has a processor that is 4x faster than its predecessor, Leapster 2, and a 512mb memory which is also 4 x greater than its earlier model.
New features are:
• Ebooks that can be read by flipping the pages by sliding your finger across the screen.
• Online play - you can connect to LeapWorld for online play
• Downloadable Leaplet Learning Apps
• Flash cards – virtual interactive on-screen flash cards are a great learning tool for math, science and other subjects
• Video – the high-resolution 320x240 screen at 3.2 inches allows for decent playback of movies a great feature for young ones learning how to use digital electronics
Important note:
It must be pointed out that games for Leapster 2 are not compatible with the Leapster Explorer and the new Leapster Explorer games are not compatible with older models either. Do take note of this if you think that you would have been able to interchange games.
